The National World War I Museum and Memorial’s lawn hosted eighteen days of performances that could accommodate up to 25,000 spectators at a time.
It’s a significant figure. To put things in perspective, the stage being constructed for this festival is reportedly twice as large as the one Chappell Roan used for her sold-out performances at the same location in October 2025, where about 30,000 people attended each night. On June 19, Flo Rida will perform during the “Sports Town USA” themed weekend, which is intended to capitalize on Kansas City’s reputation as a team-obsessed city. It makes some sense to see Flo Rida at a World Cup fan festival. Large outdoor settings with strangers who have all had a few drinks and are feeling giving to one another have always been conducive to his music. It’s not a subtle decision, but it doesn’t have to be.
On June 13, just one day after Tech N9ne begins, the Chainsmokers take the stage. Rap legend and electronic pop duo performing back-to-back nights is an intriguing pairing that suggests the organizers are attempting to cover ground rather than stick to a single sound. On June 20, Cimafunk will play, contributing an Afro-Cuban vibe that fits with the tournament’s global theme. The Fourth of July weekend is given a country vibe by Gabby Barrett on July 3 and a Missouri theme by Sheryl Crow on July 10, which likely has greater significance for the locals than any press release could convey.
The fact that general admission is free is more significant than it may appear. Who shows up is altered by the choice to keep the base experience available to anyone who registers in advance.
